Beaten
rice (Poha)
We have beaten rice
predominantly for breakfast furthermore office going person & school going
teenager enjoy it at lunch. Region of this beaten rice is sub continent of
India. Flattened rice commonly known as chira/ chura/ chiura in divergent part
of India. Basically it’s made by rice; this quick and dainty dish will read up
by today.
Beaten rice - 100 grams
Potato -1
boiled (chopped in small pieces)
Oil - 3 to
4 tbsp
Salt - to
taste
Sugar - ½
tbsp (optional)
Lemon
juice - 2 tbsp
Peanut -
50 gram
Cumin
seeds - ½ tbsp
Turmeric
powder - 1/3 tbsp
Onion
chopped - 2 medium size
Mustard
seeds - ½ tbsp
Curry
leaves - as per your taste
Bhujiya -
for garnish (optional)
Coriander
leaves - for garnish
In the
beginning put the poha in a strainer pour a jug of water on it, tap the
strainer to extract water from the poha and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Then turn
on the flame and heat the pan add the peanuts roast it fir 2-3 minutes on low
medium flame keep stirring and take out the roasted peanuts in a plate add oil
in the same pan and let it heat then add cumin and mustard seeds add green
chili and curry leaves fry it for few seconds on medium flame then add sugar
(sugar is totally optional if u do not like sweet then you can skip it) and mix
it. Add onion and fry it until it turns golden brown (about 2-3 minutes) on low
medium flame after that add turmeric powder mix it for few seconds then add
potato pieces and fry it for 2-3 minutes, add roasted peanuts and mix it, now
add washed poha and mix it gently add salt as per your taste mix it
and cover the pan and cook it for a minute on low flame by that time open the
lid and stir it add lemon juice and mix it, add coriander leaves and mix it
again and cover the pan cook it for few minutes then open the lid stir it and
turn the flame off.
Take it
out to the serving plate and garnish it with sev / aalu bhujiya and slice of
lemon.
